February 19, 1999 Organizational Meeting
Joint Water Purveyor Meeting
The first organizational meeting of the proposed Joint Water Purveyor Board was called to order by Pat Clerf at 9:00 a.m. Those in attendance were Jack Carpenter, Barbara Pettit, Roger Satnik, John Scott, Larry Bland, Jim Schnebly, Urban Eberhart, Bill Lowe of Kittitas Reclamation District, Gene Panattoni, Jay Anderson, Kirk Riegel, Frank Gregerich, Vern Burgart, of West Side Irrigating Co., Bart Bland, Menastash Creek, Ron Poulsen, Larry Browne, Kevin Eslinger, Pat Clerf, Ray Poulsen of Ellensburg Water Company, John Dyk, Ben George, Paul Harrel of Taneum Canal Co., Pat Taylor, Olson Ditch, Rod Lang, Ellison Ditch, Bob Mundy, Hugh Spall, Roger Scheopner, Packwood Canal, Rob Acheson Fogarty Ditch, Darrel Eason, Mill Ditch, Ben Kern, Tony Jantzer, Jack Clerf, Don Rinehart of Cascade Irrigation District, Mark Moore, Bob Haberman of KCCD, Mike Johnston, Daily Record, and March Charlton, Kittitas County Farm Bureau.
Item 1. Call to order, introductions
Mr. Clerf explained every effort was made to get as diverse a group of water users as possible for this meeting and asked the group for input on additional water users of the Kittitas Valley. Mr. Clerf briefed the group on the purpose of the meeting being to determine what direction the irrigators of the Kittitas Valley want to take on water quality in the upper stretch of the Yakima River.
Mr. Clerf discussed possible funding sources explaining applications are currently being prepared and submitted for grant monies. Mr. Clerf further requested input regarding funding if the grant applications are not approved.
Discussion followed with the suggestion a committee be established to oversee tasks as determined by this group. Mr. Clerf requested the information discussed today be taken back to respective entities for input and appointment of a representative to a committee.
It was the consensus a second meeting be scheduled for March 11, 1999 at Sterling Savings.
